At "The Shadows of Green River Academy," you'll hear true stories of death and demise from Academy’s past!

This spooky event is great for the whole family, and tame enough for children, too!

Your tour starts in the outside the Academy with the undertaker who will guide you to the building’s doors. Walk through the darkened halls into a chilling world of ghosts who will tell their harrowing tales in each room, while also singing popular songs from the past!

Halloween treats, including cider, cookies, and candies await in the Academy’s carriage house.

For a truly Kentucky halloween experience, there's no better destination than Green River Academy! Shadows of Green River Academy starts at 7pm and a new tour begins every 15 minutes. Tours are 45 minutes each. Shadows of Green River Academy is held on October 25, 2024.

In honor of the agricultural community and the planters that organized to build the Green River Academy nearly 200 years ago, the Shindig is the recreation of an annual event held to celebrate community. The Shindig is one of the premier charity events of Southern Kentucky that highlights the tradition of celebrating the region’s unique culture and heritage. The gala features a guest chef prepared dinner set among unique locations within the Academy’s home county, and is followed by live music, dancing, and an auction.
